about
The Good Ones announce their fourth album, Rwanda…you see ghosts, I see sky. As with The Good Ones past three releases, Grammy-winning music producer and author, Ian Brennan (Tinariwen, Zomba Prison Project, Ramblin; Jack Elliott), and his wife, Italian Rwandan photographer and filmmaker, Marilena Umuhoza Delli, recorded The Good Ones album live and without overdubs on the primary songwriter Adrien Kazigiras' farm the same farm Adrien was born on, the same land where he hid and survived the 1994 genocide.
Their first single, "The Darkness Has Passed (Genocide 1959-1994)," sees the band digging through the history of violence and genocide in Rwanda from the Rwandan Revolution in 1959, through the massacres of Tutsis in the 1960s, and to the more well-known in the west, 1994 genocide. The Good Ones' fourth record can feel incredibly heavy, it is the first time the band has fully taken on writing in this depth about the violence and genocides they’ve experienced.
